Specsy ("we", "the app") helps you store the sizes, models and refill details of your belongings. This policy explains what we collect and why.
Solely to provide the app: authenticate you, store and sync your items across your devices, and keep the service secure. We do not sell your data and do not show ads.
When you scan a product barcode, the app sends only the barcode number to the public Open Food Facts family of databases (Open Food Facts, Open Beauty Facts, Open Products Facts, Open Pet Food Facts) to look up the product name and photo. No personal information is sent with the request.
You can create shared shopping lists and invite other people to them — including people outside your family, via an invite link. Anyone you add to a list can see and edit the items in that specific list (names, notes, photos, voice notes and prices you add there). They cannot see your library, your other lists, or your family. Invite links expire after 7 days. You can remove a participant, or delete the list, at any time.
You can also share a single library card with another person via a link (for example, through a messenger). Anyone who opens that link and signs in to Specsy receives a read-only copy of that one card — its name, specifications and photos — and may save it to their own library. Sharing one card does not expose your other cards, lists or family. A shared card stays read-only for the recipient until they choose to save their own copy.
Data is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure (database and image storage). Passwords are stored only as a secure hash and are never readable by us.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and all associated items and photos from our servers. Deleting an individual item also removes its photos and voice notes immediately.
You can request a copy of your data at any time by emailing support@specsy.uk — we will send it within 30 days.
Specsy is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
